Description
India Monsooned Malabar Coffee
Our Monsooned Malabar coffee brings you a mellow, 100% Arabica cup from India. This coffee weathers the monsoon season, and we blend it with some Sumatran and Colombian coffees for depth. As a result, you get tones of walnuts and prunes in a smooth, easy-drinking cup.
It has a delicate presence in the cup. However, it leaves a surprisingly pleasant finish in the mouth.
What It Tastes Like
If you prefer a gentle cup, this coffee is a great pick. Because it has very low acidity and a medium body, it goes down smoothly. You will notice mellow tones of walnuts and prunes. Since we roast it dark, the flavors feel rich without turning harsh.

What Does “Monsooned” Mean?
Traditionally, growers in India let the beans sit in open warehouses and soak up the humid monsoon winds for several months. As a result, the beans swell and lose much of their acidity, and they pick up a mellow, earthy character. Therefore, Monsooned Malabar tastes very different from most coffees.
How to Brew It
In fact, Monsooned Malabar is versatile. For example, it works well in a French press, drip coffee maker, or pour-over. It is also smooth enough to enjoy black, although it pairs nicely with a splash of milk. Also, if you buy whole bean, grind it just before brewing to keep the flavor at its best.
